Self Esteem Classes
Children and young people demonstrate low self-esteem in many different ways including withdrawal, anger, tearfulness and disruption.
These sessions are aimed at catching the child or children before the cycle becomes too damaging; perhaps you are aware of a change in your child's behaviour or attitude and you know the reasons but would like some friendly and impartial intervention. Perhaps they are demonstrating different behaviour in school and you would like help to address that. The sessions are varied but usually involve some time working with the child alone, some time with the carers alone, some time with the family as a whole and suggestions for activities for the family to work on outside of the sessions. The sessions are fun, interactive and designed to make all involved feel good - the purpose is not to apportion blame but to help everybody feel happy and able to cope with what life throws at them.
Typically, a series of sessions will involve an initial meeting and then a personalised programme of activities to improve self-esteem. They can be carried out in the family setting or other venues arranged.
